Pundit urges Premier League striker to snub Spurs and sign for Chelsea

Paul Merson has urged Callum Wilson to snub any approach from Tottenham Hotspur and sign for Chelsea this summer should both clubs call coming.

The 27-year-old has had a decent season for Bournemouth, notching 14 goals throughout the campaign and with one match to go.

Wilson has been linked with a move to both Spurs and the Blues over both the last two transfer windows, and the Blues will be very keen to add another striker in the summer.

At the moment the Blues have been slapped with a transfer ban from FIFA which means they won't be able to register any new players for a season.

However, at the moment there is an appeals process going on right now and the Blues are awaiting the result from the governing body.

But if it is overturned, then Merson believes Wilson should make the switch to Stamford Bridge over the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"If he goes to Tottenham, he’s not playing. Full stop," Merson said. "He’ll play every now and then when Harry Kane’s not fit, and that means then he’s never playing for England again.

"I’d be seriously looking at Chelsea before Tottenham, for him, because he will play at Chelsea. He would be the centre-forward [at Chelsea]."
