Former Leeds United striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Patrick Bamford was not in the wrong for his inadvertent block against Cardiff this afternoon.
Late in the first half against Cardiff with Leeds one goal down, Bamford accidentally blocked a goal-bound effort from Jack Harrison.
The moment was a key one in a disappointing afternoon for Leeds, as they would slump to a 2-0 defeat in south Wales.
But Hasselbaink believes it wasn't Bamford's fault at all, saying Harrison should have put the ball in the other corner.
"Great attack from Leeds," he said on Sky Sports. "A good pull-back and Harrison gets an opportunity but when the luck is not with you, it is not with you and Bamford is in those kind of plays where it does not work for him.
"He should be in that position because he thinks that Harrison is going to cross that ball across the goal.
"He thinks that he can have a tap-in but he pulls it back and he is too late to get out of the way.
"But I also think that Harrison should go to the corner where the ball is coming from because he then scores, the goalkeeper is on his wrong foot and he can't go back.
"Look, it's one of those things. I do think Leeds just need to keep on going and if they keep producing this kind of football they will get other chances."
The defeat means Leeds remain second in the table, behind West Bromwich Albion on goal difference. Fulham are a further seven points back in third.
