Pundit makes Sam Surridge prediction as he reveals lessons learned from Nottingham Forest visit

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has backed Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge to play at a higher level.

That holds the Reds in good stead if they are to achieve promotion to the Premier League this season. There are just two league games left to go and automatic promotion is well within reach, while a play-off place has already been secured.

Speaking after Saturday's 5-1 thrashing of Swansea, Morrison had plenty of praise for both Surridge and head coach Steve Cooper - particularly after a recent visit to the training ground.

"I was surprised by that. I went in and watched training, the manager invited me in, and he can finish," Morrison said on EFL on Quest.

"They're going to need him from now until the end of the season because obviously Keinan Davis and Lewis Grabban are injured. This boy has got all the capability and even (could be) playing at a higher level. He can score goals.

"But I have to give special credit to Steve Cooper for the job he's done. When I went into the training ground (it was clear) he gets everything tactically spot on."
