Pundit makes PSG vs Manchester United prediction

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted a tough night for his former side in their opening Champions League outing of the season.

United have the unenviable task of tackling last season's Champions League finalists PSG in Paris this evening as they kick off their group stage campaign.

And Owen has predicted just how the game will unfold as we build towards kick-off in the French capital.

Speaking as part of his weekly tips for Bet Victor, former United and Liverpool man predicted a Paris Saint-Germain win and for both teams to score.

"Manchester United flattered to deceive with their 4-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday night," he said.

The moment Bruno Fernandes found out he will captain Manchester United against PSG

"However, they face a much tougher test in Paris. With the likes of Neymar and Mbappe, I think they may have too much for United.

"I reckon last years finalists will come out on top with both sides scoring."

United head into this one having won 4-1 against Newcastle last time out, providing a much-needed response following the thumping at the hands of Tottenham before the international break.

PSG, meanwhile, haven't been their usual flawless selves in Ligue 1 in the opening weeks of the French season, losing two of their first seven games, leaving them second with 15 points.

Ahead of tonight's game in Paris, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed Bruno Fernandes will captain the side in the absence of Harry Maguire.

“We hope Harry will be fit for the weekend [for the Chelsea game] but we’re not sure,” Solskjaer said when asked about Maguire's fitness.

“The captain is sitting next to me," he added. "Bruno will captain the team tomorrow [Tuesday].”
