Pundit makes Man City prediction Liverpool and Chelsea fans will hate

Tony Cascarino has tipped Manchester City to win the Premier League by 10 points, suggesting it would be a "major achievement" if Liverpool can keep up with the Blues in the title race.

Pep Guardiola's side are on a run of seven straight wins and reached that marker with an emphatic and ruthless 7-0 win over Leeds United with Kevin de Bruyne's brace the pick of the bunch.

The title race has been nip and tuck for many months but recently, Chelsea have suffered a slight dip in form allowing for the two North West sides to edge away from the trailing pack.

City are current a point ahead of Liverpool and four clear of Thomas Tuchel's men nearing the halfway point of the campaign.

The two blemishes on the reigning Premier League holders came on the opening weekend against Tottenham Hotspur and the end of October when they were dispatched by goals from Wilfried Zaha and Conor Gallagher in a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Speaking to talkSPORT Cascarino predicted: "I want my former club Chelsea to have an involvement and the team I grew up supporting, Liverpool, on their tails, I think that's as good as it's going to get.

"If Liverpool or Chelsea finish above City, it'll certainly be Liverpool's biggest achievement of recent history, because City are an exceptional team.

"You said seven straight wins now [for City], nine out of the last 10 and the only defeat they didn't need anything from it, it was Leipzig away in the Champions League.

"If you've got Foden on form, Bernardo Silva, obviously you've got Kevin De Bruyne coming back from injury, so if he starts showing what he can do, he's devastating.

"I think they'll win it by 10 points. It'll be a major achievement even if Liverpool can keep with them because I can't see too many games where I don't think they're going to win.

"We had this conversation last year when they were sort of mid-table but they had a couple of games in hand and we talked about, I just felt 'wow'. They can just turn it on, a ridiculous run of wins and I don't think that's any different from this year."
