Pundit makes bold Kiko Casilla claim as Rodrigo Moreno opens up on Marcelo Bielsa's impact

Here is your Leeds United morning digest on Saturday, January 16.

Phillips make Casilla claim

Kiko Casilla's poor performance against Crawley Town in the FA Cup last weekend might be the last time we see the goalkeeper playing for Marcelo Bielsa's side.

That's according to former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips, who was talking about Casilla 's woes in between the posts for Leeds recently.

The former Real Madrid shot-stopper was arguably at fault for Crawley's opening two goals in their 3-0 win over Bielsa 's side.

Phillips, when talking to Football Insider, made a bold claim about Casilla: "It was maybe his last game for Leeds. I think his time there is coming to an end. It was a really poor, poor performance.

Bielsa on Kiko Casilla

"I think Casilla’s time at Leeds will come to an end at Leeds soon. (Illan) Meslier is making the odd mistake but he is growing. He is the one they are going to build on so Casilla could be allowed to leave.

"Whether anything will happen this month, I am not sure, but certainly come the summer I think he’ll go."

Jones urges Bielsa for call

Vinnie Jones has urged Bielsa to give him a call following Leeds' shock FA Cup exit at the hands of Crawley last weekend.

The Whites were surprisingly beaten by the League Two club recently, on a day where the Yorkshire side struggled defensively.

Former Leeds defender Jones joked that he could teach Bielsa a thing or two about being successful in the FA Cup, with the Argentine coach yet to win a game in the prestigious competition.

In his column for bookmakers Easyodds, the former centre-back reflected on the third round of the FA Cup.

"Look, I was gutted for Leeds and it’s crazy that Marcelo Bielsa is yet to win an FA Cup tie during his time at Elland Time - maybe give me a call next season Marcelo and I’ll help you. I know what it takes," Jones joked.

Rodrigo opens up on Bielsa

Leeds' summer signing Rodrigo Moreno has opened up on how manager Bielsa has helped him on and off the pitch since arriving at Elland Road.

Rodrigo became the Whites' record-signing over the summer after a £27m move from Spanish side Valencia.

The Spaniard has now opened up on how his new manager has enriched him as a person, as well as a footballer during his short time in Yorkshire.

"He's very good. I think when you have the chance to work with a great professional, it's always good," the Leeds forward told LUTV.

"I have the luck to be trained by incredible coaches in my career in the different clubs that I have had and in the national team also and for sure he is one of these great coaches that I've had in my career and I'm trying to learn the most from him and it's been a very good experience for me as a player and a person also."
