Pundit issues Mason Greenwood claim that Manchester United fans will love

Mason Greenwood is a superstar and the Manchester United forward had to play for England against Andorra.

That's according to outraged talkSPORT pundit and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who claims Gareth Southgate got it wrong by not including the teenager in his latest Three Lions squad.

Deputising for England captain Harry Kane against the minnows at Wembley was debutant Patrick Bamford.

Nine years older than Greenwood - who has only been capped once by his country - the Leeds United striker was rewarded for his efforts across the last 12 months.

However, with one eye on the future - in addition to the fact Greenwood has scored in each of the opening three Premier League games this season - the United graduate ought to have been handed his chance to impress during the World Cup qualifier beneath the famous arch on Sunday afternoon.

O'Hara said: "I think when you're looking at England, getting a cap and looking for the future - because that is what Gareth Southgate does now and I back him a million per cent with the squad and what he's done.

"I look at it and these World Cup qualifiers are for next year. Who is going to be a star? Who are our stars that are coming through? You have got Foden, Bellingham.

"Players like that are going to be your stars. Mason Greenwood is a superstar - so why is he not there? Why is he not there when you're playing Andorra?"
