Pundit highlights key trait that could provide Nottingham Forest with promotion advantage

Nottingham Forest may not have got the win at the weekend, but they are still very much in the promotion race.

The Reds had to settle for a point after their 2-2 draw with Sky Bet Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

Sheffield United loanee Callum Robinson opened the scoring for the Baggies, before a Kyle Bartley own goal just prior to half time gifted Forest a deserved equaliser.

Tobias Figueiredo then handed Albion a lead with an own goal of his own, but there was more drama as Matty Cash bagged a late equaliser for Sabri Lamouchi’s side at The Hawthorns.

Sky Sports pundit Keith Andrews watched the contest, and praised one key element of Forest’s performance which could hand them an advantage in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

“What Nottingham Forest do very well is they stick in games, they have a resilient streak,” Andrews told Sky Sports’ EFL Podcast.

He added: “We know they can get points and wins with having less possession and that again was the case on Saturday.

“They never gave up right until the end.

“Yet again, we’re talking about Forest cementing themselves in the top-six, but of course they had the opportunity, if they won that game, to go second because it’s so tight at the top.”

Leeds United, Fulham, Brentford, Preston North End and Bristol City are a host of other clubs with ambitions of being promoted to the top flight this term.

Forest return to the City Ground this weekend, as they face Queens Park Ranger sin their next match in the Championship.
