Pundit defends Aro Muric after nightmare Nottingham Forest debut

Dean Ashton says Aro Muric will hate seeing West Bromwich Albion's first goal against Nottingham Forest - but he was blameless for the second.

It proved to be a nightmare Reds debut for the Manchester City loanee as they lost 2-1 at the City Ground.

EFL on Quest pundit Ashton felt Muric was at fault for Kyle Edwards' equaliser after Matty Cash had given Forest an early lead.

However, former West Ham United striker Ashton believes Muric could do nothing about Matt Phillips' right wing cross, which flew over his head and into the top corner.

"He can produce. He did so for Manchester City last season all the way to the Carabao Cup final," Ashton said.

"Goalkeepers make mistakes. It's as simple as that. He should go with his feet and get it away.

"It's a great strike from Kyle Edwards, but Muric will look back at that and hate watching it because he knows he should have done better.

"The second goal I have no blame whatsoever for him. He's just not expecting it and it's right in the top corner.

"You can't really blame him for that."
