Pundit claims one key Tottenham player looks 'fatigued' after Wolves draw

Match of the Day pundit Stephen Warnock has pinpointed where Tottenham went wrong in their draw with Wolves, claiming one player looked 'fatigued'.

Spurs looked as though they were heading for three points at Molineux after Tanguy Ndombele scored just one minute in, Jose Mourinho's men taking a lead that would last 85 minutes.

But Romain Saiss caught them napping with just four minutes on the clock, escaping his marker to head home at the front post and deny Tottenham all three points.

As ever, the game was dissected on Match of the Day and former Liverpool defender turned pundit Warnock pinpointed where Spurs went wrong, highlighting the player he believes looked 'fatigued'.

“They do [need to be more on the front foot] and that is their game plan that he likes to employ," he said. "He likes to be counter-attacking.

“I don’t think Son was at the races today and Kane was a little bit fatigued as well. They have to do more to get up the pitch in the second half of matches.”

Like many clubs, Spurs are in the thick of a busy festive period, and they also had the Carabao Cup clash with Stoke City to squeeze in before Christmas.

There's no respite either, with another game on Wednesday, then a pattern of Saturday-Tuesday-Sunday-Wednesday-Sunday ensues, a schedule that will, no doubt, leave Tottenham, and indeed Kane, in desperate need of a break.

But that is the nature of English football at this time of year and it's something Mourinho must navigate as he looks to get his side back into title contention.

Tottenham's draw with Wolves saw them miss an opportunity to close the six-point gap on Liverpool, who drew with West Brom earlier in the day, but they did move up to fifth.
