Pumpkin picking Glasgow: The best patches to choose your own for Halloween

Summer is great if you enjoy the sun and getting out and about, but with everything going on, sometimes it's just nice to sit inside, cosy up and relax.

Roll on autumn - we're very much here for it.

Think pumpkin spiced food and drink, chunky blankets, big woolly jumpers and of course autumn scented candles - anything with cinnamon in it basically.

So now with summer well and truly over, it's time to get out the carving utensils and carve some pumpkins. But first we actually have to pick some!

We've rounded up a few of the best places in Glasgow to pick pumpkins - with or without kids!

The Renfrew farm is located just next to Glasgow Airport and a perfect place to go as an adult or with kids as a family.

They're also open for fruit picking but that has now come to an end. So if you visit their website it says currently closed, but don't worry they have confirmed that they will reopen in October for pumpkin picking.

If you head to their Facebook page you'll see that they have five out of five stars based on the opinion of 331 people - that's pretty impressive.

Barrhead Pumpkin Patch

This pumpkin patch always sells out - so as soon as you hear the word go - GO!

It is located just a few minutes drive outside Barrhead in a field overlooking the Neilston Mill Hill.

This is a great place to take the family to because as well as picking pumpkins, you can also take part in a bunch of activities including glitter tattoos, face painting, witches brew forest hunt, real tractor/trailer play, assault course and a messy play area.

The Lanarkshire-based pumpkin farm is held at M&Ds theme park.

They also have lot of activities on for families including a story telling by Folksy Theatre, bash a pumpkin game, a pumpkin treasure trail, pumpkin patch and the Pumpkin Express themed train so you don't have to worry about carrying those pumpkins back.

All activities will take place from October 9 until October 31. They do however state that tickets must be booked online in advance to ensure ample space for physical distancing for story telling sessions and to ensure that everyone has enough time to enjoy each activity.

The park has just updated their Facebook page and have said that every child will get a pumpkin for free.

You will be able to head down to pick your own orange beauty from October 9 until October 31.

You'll also find a range of activities here from a haunted house, face painting, boo corner, fancy dress competitions, a pumpkin carving workshop and a lot more - all of them suitable for any age.
