Roads reopen after pump explosion causes oil spill

ACT Fire and Rescue have left the scene.

A truck pump explosion has caused oil to spill across three roads in Fyshwick.

Emergency Services ACT said the explosion occurred before about 12.30pm on Monday, causing oil to spread to Ipswich Street, Wiluna Street and Lithgow Street in Fyshwick.

The roads were closed until about 1.30pm, but later re-opened to motorists.

ESA said a hydraulic pump attached to a truck had exploded.

By 1pm on Monday, ACT Fire and Rescue had left the scene and ACT Roads were cleaning up the mess.
