Puma x Barbie launch new retro collection celebrating 60 years of the iconic doll

To celebrate 60 years since Barbie was first launched, Puma has partnered with the iconic doll to create retro kicks and a range of apparel.

Since Barbie entered the market on March 9 1959, she has become one of the most recognisable faces in the world – and her cultural impact cannot be denied.

Alongside her professional development with hundreds of careers under her belt, Barbie has had an enduring love for sports and fashion where the global iconic is no stranger to collaborations.

High fashion brands like Moschino, Givenchy, Versace, and Christian Dior among many, many others have designed outfits for the 11 ½ -inch doll over the years.

But it is Puma that is bringing Barbie to the realms of streetwear.

Puma’s Nova silhouette that takes inspiration from brand’s archival 90s running shoes has been given a Barbie world twist for a special edition shoe.

It features vibrant pink, purple and yellow hues on mesh with suede overlays. The sneakers are further embellished with Barbie graphics with her logo on the heel cap. Proving once and for all that life in plastic, is actually fantastic.

The collaboration extends to apparel with a zip-up tracksuit top, a candy pink t-shirt, tights and leggings for women and kids.
