'Pulling a fast one on Monchi' - Chelsea fans say same thing as transfer exit nears completion

Chelsea defender Malang Sarr looks set to leave the west London club on a season-long loan deal, according to reports.

According to Goal, the Blues are trying to find a destination for the French defender before the transfer window slams shut later this evening.

Sarr joined the club last summer from Nice, but was loaned back out to Portuguese side Porto, where he spent the whole of the 2020/21 season.

With Chelsea still pursuing a deal to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla before the 11pm cut-off point, some of the club's fan base have a theory surrounding Sarr looking likely to depart.

With Sarr possibly leaving Stamford Bridge on another loan deal, this could theoretically pave the way for Kounde to come in.

However, there are complications surrounding a deal to sign the France international, with Sevilla recently increasing their asking price.

The Spanish club's sporting director Monchi confirmed on Tuesday that the Seville-based outfit will only let Kounde leave before the deadline if his £68million release clause is triggered.

What could worry Chelsea is Real Madrid's proposed late move for the 22-year-old defender. According to Onda Cero, via the Express, Los Blancos are planning a last gasp swoop for the Sevilla star.

Carlo Ancelotti has lost both Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos this summer and the newly-appointed Real Madrid manager wants to add to his back line before this evening's transfer deadline.

Kounde has previously made his intention to leave Sevilla clear, saying that he would change clubs this summer.

"Regarding my future, it’s certain that I will perhaps have to change clubs this summer," the Sevilla star said earlier this year.

"But nothing has been finalised yet. I have not decided anything.

"My goal is to play for a big club, to try to always progress and to win trophies. It’s true that I might have to move but that’s not relevant today."
