'Pull on your emotional life jacket': Janey Godley reacts to lockdown announcement

On Monday, Nicola Sturgeon announced that Scotland will enter a second lockdown.

With tough restrictions to be enforced and the 'stay at home' guidance to become law, many have been left feeling a little disappointed with the start of 2021.

However, to spread a little laughter across the country and remind people of the new rules, comedian Janey Godley has released yet another video.

The hilarious comic has dubbed most of Nicola Sturgeon's big announcements with her own voiceover, and this week was no different.

In a video that quickly went viral, Godley gave her thoughts on the issues discussed in parliament, reports the Daily Record.

She said: "Well happy 2021 everybody, winter is coming. Oot there it’s like an ice rink, I near went Torvil and Dean right on my a**e.

"Bottom line is this virus has mutated and we’re goany have to go right back into March lockdown again.

"I’ve been asking people aw year tae stay in the house if ye can, wash your hands, stay away fae each other, remember the two Alsatians rule, two meters, two full Alsatians apart.

"Obviously a lot of people huv been following the rules but some people huvnae, so we’re gonna have tae shut down the schools, shut the shops, the whole f*****g thing, tools in the store, we’re back tae square one.

"I’m asking ye aw no tae go out, f**k this off and end up the NHS is going to be overwhelmed, it’s that simple and it disnae matter how many people in the opposition say 'whit you dain aboot this?'

"I don’t have a crystal ball, we’ve got the vaccine we’re trying to roll it out, we’re asking everybody to try their f*****g best and try and keep away fae each other, that’s the only way this virus is going to be under control, so look after each other, pull on your emotional life jacket and keep each other afloat.

"I'm heading off, I'mm gonna go and get a steak pie supper, f****n up tae high doe with the lot ae it."
