Werner, Chilwell, Pulisic - Latest Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of Crystal Palace match

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this weekend as they welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues will be hoping to bounce back from their penalty shoot-out Carabao Cup defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

Frank Lampard's men have had a topsy-turvy start to the Premier League this season, picking up four points from a possible nine so far.

They started off in fine fashion at Brighton with a 3-1 win but a loss to Liverpool and a draw with West Brom has seen them stutter since.

Here is the latest Chelsea injury news going into Saturday's lunchtime game.

Timo Werner

The summer signing went down injured against Spurs in midweek towards the end of the game.

It was due to this that he didn't take a penalty in the shoot-out.

However, Lampard said after the match the striker had suffered from a bout of cramp.

He is, therefore, likely to recover in time to play against Palace.

Ben Chilwell

The 23-year-old has been struggling with a foot injury that saw him miss the final Premier League games of last season but he made his Blues debut as a substitute against Barnsley in the cup last week.

The former Leicester defender got 66 minutes against Spurs in midweek before making way for Emerson.

Chilwell is yet to feature for Chelsea in the league so he'll be hoping to get the full 90 for the visit of Palace.

Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic

Lampard said the wingers are progressing well following knee and hamstring injuries respectively, and are expected to be involved soon having rejoined training.

"Ziyech and Pulisic are not far away," said the boss. "They are still in their recovery stage so it’s too early for them [to play]."

Lampard will issue an update on both midfielders and their chances of playing at Friday's pre-match press conference.
