Puducherry sees 22 fresh Covid-19 cases, 78 recover

PUDUCHERRY: The Union territory of Puducherry reported 22 fresh cases even as 78 patients recovered in the last 24 hours ending at 10am on Tuesday bringing down the number of active cases to 321. Of them, 302 are under home isolation and treatment while the rest 19 are in hospitals.

Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum fresh cases with 15 followed by Karaikal (8), Mahe (3) and Yanam (1). Puducherry headquarters has the maximum active cases with 179 followed by Karaikal (110), Yanam (19) and Mahe (13).

The territory did not report a Covid-19 death and the toll to remained at 1,960. Puducherry headquarters has the maximum fatalities with 1,528 followed by Karaikal (264), Yanam (113) and Mahe (55). The fatality rate of the infection remained at 1.2%. The territory has so far reported 1.65 lakh cases of which 1.63 lakh patients recovered registering a recovery rate of 98.8%. The positivity rate of samples (2,129) tested on Tuesday stood at 1.3%.

Healthcare authorities have so far tested 22.04 lakh swab samples of which 18.49 lakh samples returned negative. They have so far administered 15.74 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine. They have so far administered one dose to 9.29 lakh people, two doses to 6.33 lakh people and the precaution dose to 12,059.

They have administered the first dose to 596 people, the second dose to 4,166 people and the precaution dose to 97 people in the last 24 hours.
