PUDUCHERRY: One in four samples collected over the past 24 hours in Puducherry returned a Covid-positive result.
The Union territory reported a positivity rate of 26. 4%, close to the national capital’s 29%, after testing 4,187 samples till10am on Thursday.
The 1,107 new infections pushed Puducherry’s active case tally to 4,270, of which167 are hospitalised. There was no death due to the infection, leaving the toll unchanged at1,883.
Puducherry town reported the maximum fresh cases with 956 followed by Karaikal (126), Mahe (18) and Yanam (7). So far, 9 lakh people have gotten at least one dose of the Covid vaccine while 5. 9 lakh have gotten both doses.
