PUDUCHERRY: The Union territory reported 117 fresh Covid-19 cases even as 92 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, pushing the number of active cases to 945. Of them, 803 patients are under home isolation and treatment.
Puducherry headquarters (73) has the maximum fresh cases followed by Karaikal (29), Mahe (14) and Yanam (1). Puducherry headquarters (592)has the maximum active cases followed by Karaikal (263), Mahe (76) and Yanam (14).
A 52-year-old woman and a 75-year-old woman from Karaikal died of the infection taking the death toll to 1,834. Puducherry headquarters has the maximum fatalities with 1,440 followed by Karaikal (245), Yanam (106) and Mahe (43). The fatality rate of the infection stood at 1.5%.
The territory has so far reported 1.25 lakh cases of which 1.22 lakh cases recovered registering a recovery rate of 97.8%. Healthcare authorities have so far tested 17.51 lakh swab samples of which 14.85 lakh samples returned negative.
They have so far administered 9.32 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine to the beneficiaries. They have administered the first dose to 6.68 lakh people and two doses to 2.64 lakh people.
