To celebrate the State Opera of South Australia’s 40th birthday, a star–studded line up of soloists will bring Giacomo Puccini’s melodies to life, with accompaniment by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. Puccini was the last of the great Italian composers, in a tradition that spanned 300 years, and his compositions are among the world’s landmark operas.
The line up includes Gisele Blanchard, Joanna McWaters, Deborah Caddy, Samantha Rubenhold, Teresa La Rocca, Rosario La Spina and Bernard Hull. They will perform pieces from La Bohème, Tosca, Gianni Schicchi, La rondine, Madama Butterfly, Turandot and Suor Angelica.
