Pubs and restaurants reopening date confirmed as Boris Johnson lists strict rules they must follow

Boris Johnson has confirmed the hospitality industry can finally start to reopen from July 4.

Speaking in the House of Commons this afternoon, the Prime Minister also made the expected announcement regarding the two metre being reduced to one metre from this date too.

However he also advised where it is possible to keep a two metre distance the public should but otherwise a one metre rule must be kept.

This means it is now possible for our local pubs, bars and restaurants to begin to reopen.

Announcing the changes, Boris Johnson said: "We can now go forward to safely ease the lockdown in Britian." but he also warned: "Each step will be conditional and reversible"

All bars and restaurants will be limited to table service only, to minimise contact. The PM says these businesses should also only have minimum staff working at all times.

Boris Johnson also confirmed providing new measures are adhered to, from July 4 people will also be free to stay over in hotels and bed and breakfasts and camp sites as long as shared facilities are kept clean.

Hairdressers were also finally given the green light to reopen from July 4, but further details surrounding nail bars will be announced at a later date.

Nightclubs, bowling alleys, gyms and spa must remain closed and have not been given the green light to reopen.
