Public warned to stay away from 'dangerous' mental health patient with 'history of violence'

Police have warned the public to stay away from a mental health patient with a 'history of violence' after he fled from a mental health unit.

Paranoid schizophrenic Aaron Moore ran off wearing handcuffs while being escorted by three aids outside London's North Middlesex Hospital.

The 31-year-old has been described as "dangerous" by the Met Police and "extensive efforts" are being made to trace him.

Moore escaped from outside North Middlesex Hospital, Enfield, on Thursday, June 20 and fled in the direction of the A406.

Police have released CCTV footage of his last known sighting just after 9.15am on Friday when he made a large cash withdrawal at Nationwide Building Society in Tottenham, north London.

Moore is described as a light skinned black male, around 6ft tall of large/heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.

Cops said he is a paranoid schizophrenic with a history of violence. He also suffers from diabetes.

Detective Inspector Paul Ridley, of the Met's North Area CID, said: "Extensive efforts are being made by my investigation team to locate this dangerous individual who is unlawfully at large.

"He has a history of violence and the risk exacerbates the longer he is without his medication which he requires daily.

"If you see this man, please do not to approach or challenge him but dial 999 immediately.'
