Public told to call 999 if they see escaped prisoner on the run from HMP Leyhill

A prisoner is on the run after escaping from jail near Bristol.

Paul Easby, 42, was last seen at 6pm yesterday (Sunday) at HMP Leyhill, South Gloucestershire, where he is serving a sentence for grievous bodily harm.

The police are now appealing for help in tracking him down.

Easby is described as white, 6ft 1ins tall,  with short brown hair.

Although he has facial hair in the police photo, he is currently clean-shaved.

He is believed to be wearing a white T-shirt and black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with three white stripes down the legs.

He is thought to have travelled to the Plymouth area where he has links.

If anyone sees Easby or knows of his whereabouts, police are urging them to ring 999, providing the call handler with the reference 5219213466.
