A Queensland man has been charged by police with child abuse and weapons offences after a tip-off.

Officers executed a search warrant at the 36-year-old's property in Emerald, central Queensland, on Monday after information was received from members of the public.

Police allege two guns and child exploitation material were located during the man's arrest.

He has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons, possession of child exploitation material, indecent treatment of children and using the internet to procure children.

The man has also been charged in relation to having ammunition for the guns.

He is due to appear before Emerald Magistrates Court next month.
