Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, the designers behind the New York-based label Public School, have won the inaugural menswear International Woolmark prize.

The prize, which requires finalists to present a merino wool collection, was judged by Paul Smith, Tim Blanks, Dylan Jones and Nick Wooster, and awarded at the start of this season’s London Collections: Men.

Chow and Osborne, who met while working at Sean John, will receive substantial funding, and their next collection will be stocked at Harvey Nichols in London and online at matchesfashion.com.
