Public Mass at an East Kilbride church has been suspended until further notice after a priest tested positive for COVID-19.
Father Charles Coyle of Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church told the East Kilbride News he had been self-isolating after a family member contracted the virus and he too has now tested positive.
He posted on the Westwood church's Facebook page saying he and Monsignor Millar were in self-isolation.
They have both been inundated with well-wishes from the church community and people in the town.
The post reads: "I have tested positive for coronavirus, which means that the Monsignor and I will have to isolate for 10 days and 14 days.
"There will therefore be no public Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes until further notice. The funeral Masses next week will go ahead with another priest. God Bless."
A spokesman for the Diocese of Motherwell said all "COVID precautions are being taken by the parish".
