Another major Ayr school has been hit by Covid, it was confirmed tonight.
A contact tracing operation is underway at Dalmilling Primary.
Parents were informed this afternoon of pupils who may have come into contact with confirmed cases.
They are now being asked to self-isolate at home for 10 days.
It follows the news that 12 teachers have tested positive at Braehead Primary and early years centre, also in the town.
It has closed until Monday, March 22, along with nearby Heathfield Primary.
However, Dalmilling Primary will currently stay open with affected cases asked to self-isolate.
Lynne McNiven, director of public health at NHS Ayrshire & Arran, said: "We have immediately undertaken a careful risk assessment to identify any children and staff who may have had contact with the confirmed cases.
"These individuals are being contacted by the Test and Protect team and told to self-isolate at home for 10 days.

"We appreciate this is a very worrying time.
"However, we would like to assure people that every measure is being taken to protect children and staff.
"We would like to encourage any children and staff that attended school to get tested if they have non-specific symptoms or if they have been in the school recently.
"Rapid COVID-19 testing for people is now available for people without symptoms in Ayrshire please visit https://www.nhsaaa.net/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/ for information on testing sites available near you."
