There are 469 people being treated for Covid in Scottish hospitals as 2,134 new cases were recorded within the last 24 hours.
Data has been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.
The figure for hospital patients is up 24 from yesterday. There are currently 40 people with the disease being treated in ICU.
The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has risen by 94 to 22,524.
Of the new cases, 38 were from South Ayrshire and 32 were attributed to North Ayrshire. There were 25 new cases in East Ayrshire.
A total of 316,037 positive tests have now been recorded from 2.350 million tests carried out since the start of the pandemic.
In a note attached to today's statistics, Public Health Scotland said it is aware of a delay in results from the Glasgow Lighthouse laboratory which is continuing to issue results as tests are processed whilst investigating and resolving the cause of the delay.
According to Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, Midlothian has the highest infection rate in the country – at 668.4 as of Sunday, July 11.
The second-highest is Dundee City which has a rate of 638.2 while East Lothian (500.5) has the third-highest rate.
Locally, North Ayrshire's infection rate stands at 266.4 with East Ayrshire at 243.4. South Ayrshire's is 215.8. Currently, 16 of Scotland's 32 council regions have an infection rate below the national average of 355.9.

No further deaths have been announced in the last 24 hours which means 7,757 people have passed away since March 2020.
However, data from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows 10,189 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, July 4 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
Across the UK, the figure is 128,425 as of last night.
There are 19 patients being treated for the disease in Ayrshire hospitals, which is up one on yesterday, and fewer than five in ICUs.
Nationally, a total of 3,934,408 people have received the first dose of a Covid vaccine and 2,893,271 have received their second dose.
