Public Health Scotland data reveals West Lothian is again fourth lowest for vaccinations in Scotland

West Lothian is fourth lowest for vaccinations in Scotland.

The latest Public Health Scotland data revealed that West Lothian is behind only Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Last week it looked like the county would be moving up the vaccination tables as West Lothian moved to fifth lowest, and overtook Renfrewshire.

However, the latest statistics as of March 28 show that West Lothian has dropped down to fourth lowest again, having vaccinated 72,316 residents with their first dose, 49 per cent of the population in the region.

When The Courier reported on vaccinations last Monday, 69,515 people had been vaccinated in West Lothian.

This means just 2801 residents were vaccinated last week, despite the Bathgate Pyramids Centre being capable of giving 12,000 people their jags per week.

NHS Lothian are the worst performing health board in Scotland, with 44.8 per cent of residents having had their first dose.

Na h-Eileanan Siar remains top of the vaccination tables, with 73.1 per cent of the populating having had the first dose.

The PHS data also shows that 631,403 people between the ages of 16-64 year, with underlying health conditions, have been vaccinated with their first dose.

A further 164,844 people who were on the shielding list have received their first jag of the vaccine.
