The recent spike on Covid-19 infections has taken West Lothian past the Level Two threshold.
Public Health Scotland’s latest data shows that there were 32 new infections in West Lothian as of June 5.
Across the week between May 20 to June 3 there were another 114 infections.
This means the county now has a positivity rate of 62.3 per 100,000 residents.
The threshold for Level Two in Scotland is 50 per 100,000
Since entering Level Two in May pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants in West Lothian have been allowed to serve customers indoors but rising infections place that in jeopardy.
West Lothian only moved down to Level One on Friday night but infections have been rising for over a week now.
The national average is 88.1 per 100,000 but West Lothian has been creeping closer in recent days.
Nicola Sturgeon warned people to be cautious with Covid-19 cases tripling in Scotland over the past month.
The First Minister said: “We are at a very critical juncture right now in what we still very much hope and believe is a transition to a less restrictive way of dealing with Covid, but the position we are in now on that transition is a fragile one.
“On the downside, as we can see, cases are rising again, they have more than tripled over the last month and today the more than 900 cases that have been reported is the highest number of new cases since the 17th of February.
“The R number is now estimated to be above 1, indeed many experts believe that not just Scotland but the UK is now at the start of a third wave of Covid.”
