A further 4,917 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours – with the disease claiming another 30 lives.
Latest data published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland shows there are 1,079 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals – up 14 from yesterday.
The number of people battling the virus in ICUs across the nation is 91 – up two over the same period.
No new fatalities have been reported meaning Scotland's Covid death toll remains at 8,293.
However, 10,688 deaths have been registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to Sunday, September 12.
In terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, West Dunbartonshire has the highest rate in the country – at 1,112.7 as of Tuesday, September 14.
East Renfrewshire has the second-highest infection rate at 968.1 while Inverclyde is third with 901.9.
In terms of Ayrshire's three local authorities, North Ayrshire has the highest rate of 803.7 while East Ayrshire's rate is 755.8 and South Ayrshire's is 665.2
A total of 426 new cases of Covid were reported in Ayrshire. Broken down, 162 were in North Ayrshire, 141 in South Ayrshire and 122 in East Ayrshire.

There are 83 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals – up three from yesterday – while eight people are battling the disease in intensive care in the region.
