Housing developers will hold a question and answer session for concerned residents in West Lothian.
Persimmon Home’s online interactive consultation event on Thursday May 13, between 3pm - 7pm, will offer members of the public the opportunity to ask questions on proposals for a new residential development.
They are proposing to build 61 residential units with commercial and retail uses at Simpson Avenue and Leyland Road, Wester Inch, Bathgate.
A spokesperson for the developers explained: “The site is allocated in West Lothian Council’s Local Development Plan as a Local Neighbourhood Centre and there is strong demand locally for new housing, retail and community facilities.
“Persimmon propose to submit a planning application to West Lothian Council in summer 2021.
“At this stage we would be grateful if you would review the proposed layout and provide any comments, questions or feedback to danny.mclean@persimmonhomes.com.
“This will allow Persimmon to review the proposals with a better understanding of local knowledge and views.
“When the application is submitted it will also be accompanied by a report summarising what feedback was received during the consultation event and how it influenced the proposal submitted to West Lothian Council.”
Interested parties should note that any comments received at this stage are to Persimmon Homes only, as part of their pre-application consultation process.
There will be an opportunity to make formal representations to West Lothian Council when the planning application has been submitted and registered. Feedback must be submitted no later than May 28.
Locals complained last month when The Courier broke the story about the planned new development and said that promises have not been kept by the developers to build retail units in the area as part of the ongoing construction.
