Public ballot opens to tour gardens at 10 Downing Street

In June, a select few members of the public will be invited to explore Theresa May’s garden at 10 Downing Street, as part of this summer's Open Garden Squares weekend.

The London Parks & Gardens Trust is offering the chance to explore the same gardens which have been enjoyed by prime ministers and their families for almost 300 years.

Two tours will take place on Sunday June 9, at 11.30am and 1.30pm, each with space for just 24 — meaning there’s only 48 spaces in total up for grabs.

Those hoping to secure a place on the No 10 tours can enter a public ballot, which is now open and will be running until noon, March 21. Successful entrants will be contacted shortly after the ballot closes.

The Downing Street tour is part of the Open Garden Squares Weekend, which falls on June 8–9. Last year, more than 200 gardens unlocked their gates for guests to explore and 2019 promises more of the same, with Earls Court Square, Kensington Square and Regent’s Park Allotment all involved.
