Public advised about major multi-casualty incident exercise at Fir Park tomorrow

A large-scale major incident exercise is being held at Motherwell Football Stadium tomorrow (Friday, February 21) afternoon.

The Scottish Ambulance Service will be conducting the drill.

It will be led by the service’s Education and Professional Development Department, and will have involvement from SCOTSTAR and SORT (Special Operations Response Team).

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland will also be taking part in the exercise.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “The multi-casualty exercise will be held from 1.30pm-2.30pm at Fir Park Football Stadium in Motherwell.

“It is expected to be the most realistic, current and immersive simulation exercise that have been run to date by the Scottish Ambulance Service Education Department.

“Members of the public have been advised that there may be increased presence of emergency services between 1pm and 3pm.”
