A bar worker said her "confidence was knocked" when she was allegedly told she was "useless" and a "vacuous poser" by her assistant manager once she handed in her notice.
Kiara Claire, 18, received a flurry of nasty messages and purporting to be from her assistant manager at King's Ransom in Sale after she told him she was leaving the job last Saturday.
Kiara has been working at the pub since May and had accepted the position after being furloughed from her previous job.
She had last week informed her assistant manager that she had applied for a new job and that she would be taking a trial shift, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The member of staff initially seemed supportive and encouraged her to go for the job, Kiara said.

Kiara's trial shift was successful so she then informed her manager she'd be leaving.
“The trial shift has gone amazingly today and they want me to start whenever I can,” her message said.
“I will be handing in my notice tomorrow when I come in.
“I can't thank you and the rest of the team more than enough for giving me a job."
However, Kiara says she was left "shocked and devastated" when she read the response she claims was from her assistant manager.
The message said: “Kiara. My love. It’s my wedding day. I don’t give a toss if you’re employed or not.
“And whilst we’re doing this, as you have had the level of disrespect to message me, with this meaningful nonsense. ON MY WEDDING DAY. I would like to give you some home truths.
“You have no initiative.
“You are a vacuous poser.

“You are too focused on how you look and not what you do.
“You are a useless employee.
“You would rather text than do your job. You should be embarrassed about this.
“But hear my words. Because they will do you a favour.
“Nobody is interested in YOU. Your work ethics are the only thing matter. Focus on the job and stop focusing on yourself.
“Beauty will fade. Dumb b**** is forever.”
Kiara admits she initially thought the response was a joke, but she says her friends and relatives quickly became concerned when she told them about it.
She said: "When he messaged me, I thought it was a joke because that's just my personality, I try not to take things too seriously.
"I was on FaceTime with my friends and I read it out and they were all getting quite mad about it.
"It was only until the next morning when I reread it that I started to get upset about it because the way it had been set out looked like he was being quite serious about it.
"I suffer from anxiety and it was quite shocking and upsetting to read. It did make me feel worse, it knocked my confidence.
"When I told my mum, she was really angry.

"She tried to ring him and when he eventually answered he denied it was him and that his friends had used his phone."
Her mum then posted the message exchange on social media and the post have since been widely circulated online.
Kiara has since been sent messages from people telling her not to take the response to heart.
"I'm really grateful for all the messages of support I've received," Kiara adds.
"I've had people from London, Edinburgh, and all over the country get in touch with me and it's been really lovely.
"if this happened to someone else who wasn't as strong-minded as I was and didn't have as much of as supportive family as I do, then it could have really had a knock-on effect on them."
There were also those who hit out at the assistant manager for his response, but Kiara replied to those saying: "Some of the messages are extremely uncalled for.
"I don't want him to receive any abuse or hateful messages. I don't want his life to be torn apart because of this.
"People make mistakes, and I'm very sure he woke up the next morning with a lot of regret."
The King's Ransom pub's general has since said she is investigating the matter "as a matter of urgency" and apologised on behalf of the pub "for any distress caused".
Greene King, the operator of the pub, said it was working alongside the pub's management on its investigation.
A spokesperson for the King's Ransom said: “It has come to our attention that a highly hurtful and malicious message was sent to one of our team by another member of staff.
“Our general manager is aware of this and she is investigating this matter urgently. We expect all our teams to treat each other with courtesy and respect and we’re shocked and disappointed by the contents of the message that we have read.
“Since this incident began to gain traction on social media there have been multiple fake accounts set up that claim to be people who work at the pub, which are posting Facebook comments to antagonise this situation further.
“These accounts are in no way related to the pub and we have reported them to Facebook so they can be removed as soon as possible."
