There’s nothing more relaxing than enjoying a drink while looking at a stunning view and this pub boasts one of the best.
Just a short drive from Liverpool, The Pheasant Inn has a really beautiful panoramic outlook over the Cheshire countryside and out towards the Welsh Hills, with visitors able to see for miles on a clear day. The five star hotel and restaurant sits on top of the Peckforton Hills, in Tattenhall - not far from the popular Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, which many people from Liverpool like to visit with their children.
On a visit, we discovered that inside it’s got tons of cosy countryside charm, with wooden beams, open fires and lots of hidden nooks and crannies to tuck yourself away in.

The food is as you’d expect from a place like this - hearty, wholesome and seasonal, with the menu including Welsh beef, Steak and Guinness pie and Five Bean Chilli. There’s also burgers, chunky sandwiches and ‘nibbles’ including Homemade Scotch Egg and Lamb Kofta.
The pub is also dog friendly, if you’re visiting with your four legged friend and has 12 en-suite boutique bedrooms, if you fancy an overnight stay. But it’s outside where the pub really comes into its own and what makes it perfect for a visit on a clear day. The views are breath-taking and you can eat or drink al fresco to really make the most of the setting.
People on Tripadvisor certainly agree, with one reviewer previously saying: "Amazing location. Great food. Views over Cheshire and Wales. Popular with walkers and dog owners. Busy inn in a remote location. Shows that customers think it's worth the journey. We stayed in a lovely cosy room with a window overlooking Cheshire Plains. Liverpool lights twinkling in the distance. Very friendly and attentive staff. Hands on senior team."
Another reviewer, said: "The welcome, the room, the drinks and the food excellent. The breakfast was probably the best had anywhere. Definitely stay here again in this beautiful part of Cheshire".
