Pub told to delete social media after sharing 'unacceptable' picture

A pub has been told to delete its Facebook account after a "horrible" post.

The Guelder Rose in Southport has seen comments calling for the removal of the account after they posted a controversial picture on their social media.

The the popular beachside pub posted a picture of one of their roast dinners with ketchup smeared over it, causing mass controversy.

The Facebook post read: "We need help solving a team debate -

"Does ketchup belong on a roast dinner??Yes. No."

"Let us know where you stand on the argument."

The post was quick to attract strong opinions on the subject, with the majority deeming it unacceptable.

One man commented: "What a HORRIBLE thing to do to a good roast - hate ketchup."

Another man was quick to tell the pub to deactivate the account. He wrote: "Delete your account this is unacceptable."

One person took the post quite well. He said: "Matter of your personal taste I think.

"For my part, I wouldn’t put ketchup on a roast as it would spoil it for me."
