A pub landlady has begun attempting to deter parents from leaving their children unattended with a humorous sign threatening to give the little ones a Red Bull energy drink and teaching them to swear, reports The Mirror. Landlady Jo Hunt says the funny notice has gone down well with regulars, adding that the pub is "dog-friendly and child tolerant".
Hunt, who runs The Hey Inn in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, told Lancs Live: "It's obviously just a joke. We have four children ourselves, ranging in age from 10 right down to 16 weeks, and we always joke that we are dog-friendly and child-tolerant.
"All the locals had a giggle about it. If anyone takes it seriously then b*gger them!"
The mum-of-four, who has run the pub with her husband for just over nine years, said that despite the cost-of-living crisis and energy bill increases, their establishment is doing well, saying it's "just a case of balancing what's coming in with what's going out".
"The bills are getting bigger but we just have to balance that," Mrs Hunt said. "But we've got a really good group of regulars and we're doing really well. We're really excited about signing a new contract."
