Pub landlord breaks young mum's jaw in two with single punch in 'out of the blue' attack

A mum's face had to be rebuilt after a horrific attack by a pub landlord.

Jamie-Lee Ferguson's jaw was shattered when Clint Hampson launched the brutal attack 'out of the blue'.

The 30-year-old needed two major operations, and endured the death of her baby daughter in the months following the terrifying incident.

Shocking pictures of her injuries were published by the Manchester Evening News today.

The mum-of-three, who is facing a third surgery, spoke out as her attacker begins a year long prison sentence for the attack.

Manchester Crown Court heard that Jamie-Lee was on a night out with friends after work.

She admitted to being drunk after visiting a number of pubs in the Wythenshawe area in south Manchester, and said she was assaulted inside the Silver Birch by someone else before Hampson punched her once in the face outside.

The mum, whose daughter died at 11 days old around 10 months after the attack, said: "I have had the worst two years.

"Mentally, it has destroyed me as a person.

"It is only in the last few months that I have started to go out again. I was an out-going person but after he did that to me, I started to exclude people and cut people off.

"I am slowly starting to get back there now, but it is far from over."

Jamie-Lee  said she 'wasn't sure' what happened in the pub, but claimed the attack was captured on CCTV shown during the trial.

She said Hampson 'punched her straight in the face for no reason'.

She knew him previously but said his attack came completely out of the blue.

She recalled: "The first thing that I can remember is waking up in hospital the next day - Christmas Eve . My jaw was in half and I was rushed to emergency surgery."

A jury found Hampson guilty by majority verdict after hearing Jamie-Lee give evidence.

The young mum went on: "They rebuilt my jaw because it was snapped in two places and I had three plates put in my face.

"I was pushing to come home for Christmas for my children but really I should have stayed in hospital. I was on morphene.

"It affected the children in a massive way and I've had quite a lot of mental issues because of this.

"I have gone from this really outgoing person to someone who cannot leave the house."

Jamie-Lee said she's now been told she faces losing some of her teeth and has been referred back to a maxillofacial unit for more assessment.

"I could not smile at first," she added.

"I do not sound the same or look the same and I am still on a soft diet.

"Physically I am getting there. I have still got to have, I am hoping, one more operation. My jaw is not aligned properly but after this operation, I am hoping it will be the end.

"I need to be able to move forward with my life.

"He did not even show any remorse for it."

The brewery was unavailable for comment.
