Two men were caught on CCTV walking off with plants which formed part of an urban garden outside a well known city centre pub.
Footage released to the ECHO shows two men walking off with flower pots from outside The Grapes pub on Roscoe Street in Liverpool city centre.
The plants formed part of the 'Roscoe Street Rainforest' which has become popular with drinkers and locals over recent years.
The Grapes landlady Anna Slater contacted the ECHO after the incident on Friday, April 23.
She said: "My late partner Paul spent so long cultivating the garden outside the pub and this incident has caused so much upset and hurt.
"The ' Roscoe Street Rainforest' is so heavily associated with Paul and has become a memorial to him.
"The people that stole the plants have really hurt us all at the Roscoe."
CCTV shows two men loitering outside the pub just before 9.10pm on Friday night. The men can be seen talking to each other before they start to pick up the plant pots.
The first man walks off down Roscoe Street with a pot. The second man follows him a few minutes later.
Anna often speaks on behalf of the city's night-time economy and called on the government to offer more support to independent businesses during the lockdown.
She added: "Yes it's been tough for everyone involved in the night time economy and this type of thing does not help.
"We just want the plants back."
Anyone with information about the incident caught on CCTV should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
