Pub group launches 'makeaway' meal boxes for Mother's Day

With the usual restaurant meal out the window for another Mother's Day, a local pub group is offering chef-created dishes delivered to the door.

Oakman Inns, which has a number of venues across the Home Counties and Midlands, has launched Oakman At Home - a range of ‘makeaway’ meal boxes.

Delivered nationwide, the boxes come with fresh ingredients that have been prepped by the group's chefs and only require finishing touches to recreate some of Oakman's most popular dishes.

So what's on the menu?

The group's award-winning Chef Director, Ross Pike, and his team have created a special three-course feast for Mother’s Day.

The starter features a choice of Vegetarian or Prosciutto Pide – an Italian flatbread dough covered with ricotta, cherry tomatoes, courgette ribbons, rocket and basil pesto, pickled celeriac and pickled pink onions.

Spring Roast Chicken follows with a special herb and sausage meat stuffing, complete with all the trimmings - duck-fat roasties and fresh seasonal vegetables. Don't worry, the team has deboned the chicken, so you don’t need to show Mum your carving skills.

For dessert, Ross has included his famous sticky toffee pudding with rich toffee sauce and double cream custard.

There’s also a Mushroom Wellington vegetarian option if you prefer, and everything is delivered in safe, chilled, entirely biodegradable and environmentally friendly packaging.

You can also upgrade the £25 per person meal by adding a cheese course or, if you’ve forgotten the celebratory fizz, Oakman at Home can supply everything from Prosecco to Perrier Jouet.

Ross Pike said: “My chefs have selected the best ingredients to give you the best chance of showing your mum that she’s the best.”

Visit the Oakman at Home website to order by midnight on Sunday, March 7 for free UK Mainland delivery on either Friday, March 12 or Saturday, March 13 anywhere in the UK. Prices are from £50 for two.
