Pub gardens are open this weekend - but will it be sunny in Greater Manchester?

It's the weekend many people have been waiting for.

Pub gardens will be open, Friday night pints will be flowing and Saturday catch-up drinks are on.

Zoos, non-essential shops, gyms and barbers have also reopened, meaning the city will be back to its (almost) usual weekend business.

And the last thing any of us want is for the usual Manchester weather to go with it.

But is there reason to be hopeful? In other words, will it be sunny in Greater Manchester this weekend?

According to the Met Office, the weather will stay dry for most of the weekend.

On Friday, it will be a sunny start but cloud will develop through the afternoon across the region.

It will stay dry with temperatures reaching around 12C.

Forecasters predict it will stay dry overnight and we should wake up to another sunny morning.

Saturday afternoon will be largely cloudy with highs of around 13C.

There could be some sunny intervals though, so sunglasses may be needed.

It will be cold overnight, with some frost possible.

Sunday will be another dry day and it will feel warm in the sun, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures will reach around 15C.
