Pub divides punters after slagging off people who watch Love Island

A pub has come under fire from punters after it put up a controversial sign slagging off people who watch Love Island.

Whilst the past week has seen some real drama in the ITV2 reality show, not everyone appreciates the show with its dumpings, shock re-couplings and new bombshells .

Whilst loyal watchers have waited nearly 18 months for their latest hit of the series, the pub which currently remains unnamed has accused those who watch it of having a low IQ.

Twitter user Helen Simmons shared a post about the sign which reads: "Imagine having an IQ low enough to enjoy watching Love Island."

Helen herself was outraged and tweeted: "I've got a first from Cambridge b**** I'll enjoy whatever I like."

More than 30,000 people have now liked her post and added comments in defence of the show.

One viewer said: "Some people have very stressful jobs, and just want an hour to switch off. Watching a TV show does not determine your IQ.

"In fact, the quantifying of IQs is so controversial. A test that can be used to exclude and marginalise people. Just like the pub in the photo."

Another added: "135 IQ and I think Love Island is up there with sliced bread."

"People who don't watch tv who think they're better than people who do?" said a third user, adding: "Who are these weirdos? I read a lot, and I watch tv and I knit and I run, none of this makes me a better (or worse) human than anyone else, just let people enjoy doing things!"

Another suggested: "Up there with the 'no wifi talk to people signs.'"

And someone else nipped: "Imagine running a bar so successfully that you are confident you can publicly insult the entire audience of one of the UK's most popular tv shows. Doesn't pair well with the 'warm welcome' they claim on their website."
