Pub customer in hysterics after spotting 'c**k for servers' on menu in hilarious blunder

A pubgoer was in hysterics when she found 'c**k for servers' as an option on a London boozer's menu.

The Vanbrugh, in Greenwich, has now vowed to update its app after customers pointed out the X-rated mistake, MyLondon reports.

The menu option is far more innocent than first appears and should actually read 'cocktail for servers', however this had to be shortened due to a limit on letters on the app.

A customer called Cat visited the pub this week and took a picture of the saucy menu option, although fortunately she was not offended by the gaffe.

She told My London: "I kind of wanted to order one to see what happened."

One customer was tempted to pick the saucy option just to see what was brought to her table (@diornoir)

The menu of The Vanbrugh features classic cocktails such as the Bloody Mary, Pimms, Aperol Spritz and just when you think things can't get dirtier than a dirty martini... "c**k for the servers :)" appears as the final menu choice.

Jo from The Vanbrugh told My London: "On each category there is an option to buy the staff a drink as they work incredibly hard and since we have been forced to operate in a different way their tips have not been to a level of before lockdown.

"So it’s a means for them to either get a drink or a tip from the customers."

And as for the reason it's called "c**k for servers :)" Jo simply explains: "C**k is short for cocktail as the app wont let us the whole sentence as you are only allowed to use a certain amount of letters."

This also explains a second menu item higher up on the list, which offers "a cocky tee for the team".

Jo says: "This just the heading for that group to draw attention to it as again the other spirits and wines also have them. Again cocky tee is just another word for cocktails.

"No one has mentioned it to us before and it has not been set up to offend as we are a very diverse, family friendly pub."

Jo said that The Vanbrugh will be removing the menu items to clear up any potential confusion for more customers, telling My London: "It could be seen as inappropriate and we do not want to upset or offend anyone."
