Food-tech innovator Moving Mountains has signed a deal with Stonegate Pub Company to serve its meatless hot dogs and “breeding” vegan burgers in some cities.
The firms will launch the non-meat meals in the pubco’s group of millennial pubs in key locations such as Oxford, Plymouth, Bristol, Manchester and Cardiff as demand for more plant-based options increases.
Moving Mountains said that as Generation Z and millennials are leading more vegan and flexitarian diets, its “revolutionary options” meet a growing demand for meat- and dairy-free dining by using the latest food-technology to create grub that tastes, smells and has the identical texture as meat but are completely plant-based.
Known for keeping abreast of the latest food and drink trends, the Stonegate Pub Company will be the first “millennial-focused venue” to add both the Moving Mountains Hot Dog and Burger to its menu, available from this month.

“Providing these options reflects an understanding of the up and coming generations evolving dietary preferences in eating more exciting plant-based food that is better for the environment.
“Without any compromise on taste, the Moving Mountains Hot Dog and Burger will increase millennial accessibility of meat-free dishes, providing viable alternatives for flexitarians, vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters.”
Jessica Dixon, marketing manager, for the Stonegate Pub Company, said: “We’ve had an increasing demand from millennials to add more plant-based options to our menus to cater to the growth of young people driving the meat-free movement, who also demand the latest technology.
“We’ve therefore added both the Moving Mountains Hot Dog and Burger to our menu, which are created using the latest food technology and expect this to be a big hit with our customers.”
Unlike other plant-based hot dogs on the market, the Moving Mountains product uses sunflower seeds as its base and is identical to its pork counterpart.
Moving Mountains was founded by British entrepreneur Simeon Van der Molen, who has more than twenty years’ experience in plant-based products and launched the all-natural, vegan household brand Ecozone in 2000.
Cities chosen for the Moving Mountains/Stonegate link up include; Preston, Southend On Sea, Bristol, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Birmingham, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Oxford, Leamington Spa, Leeds, Epsom, Manchester, Derby, Cardiff, Sheffield, York, Liverpool, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Greenwich, Reading, Canterbury, Loughborough, Coventry, Plymouth, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Southampton, Bath, Colchester, Exeter, Hull, and Middlesbrough.
