Pub chain announces 23 re-openings on Monday including Swansea's Gower Inn and Slug & Lettuce in Cardiff

A pub chain has revealed details of 23 pubs in Wales that are set to re-open next week to serve customers outdoors.

The Stonegate Group says that the pubs, bars and venues set to open have ensured they comply with the new Covid-19 Secure Workplace Guidance for Pubs and Restaurants.

The company said the pubs have installed external signage clearly setting out the safety measures in place. Full table service with contactless payments will be available, customers can also order food and drinks via an app. There will be dedicated smoking areas, away from dining areas.

List of Stonegate Group managed pubs that are opening in Wales on Monday, April 26:

  • Slug And Lettuce, Cardiff
  • Slug And Lettuce, Cardiff Central
  • Woodville, Cardiff
  • Bulls Head Hotel, Bala Gwynedd
  • Dee, Flint
  • Mitre, Pwllheli
  • Morgan Lloyd ,Caernarfon
  • Red Hall Hotel, Clwyd
  • Baruc Arms, Barry Island
  • Castell-Nedd Arms, Neath
  • Moggridge Arms, Blackwood

A spokesman for the pub chain said: “We are looking forward to welcoming people back through our doors on April 26.

"Our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our teams and customers, whilst ensuring everyone is able to enjoy and make the most out of their long-awaited visit to our venues.”

All the pubs will have suitable outside areas of customers, and it has now been announced that indoor hospitality and all tourist accommodation in Wales are expected to re-open on Monday, May 17 .
