Pub chain 16 Hospitality with branches in Cheshire and North Wales collapses into administration

A pub chain with branches in Cheshire and North Wales has collapsed into administration.

It was announced on Monday that Sarah O’Toole and Jason Bell of the Manchester office of Grant Thornton UK have been appointed joint administrators of 16 Hospitality, whose pubs include The Partridge in Stretton, near Warrington, and the Old Hall Hotel in Frodsham.

The chain's two other pubs are on Anglesey - The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr.

The pubs are currently closed due to coronavirus restrictions, and administrators said the majority of the workforce has been furloughed.

The administration took effect as of April 9.

Ms O’Toole said: "We are hopeful that we can find a buyer for the businesses despite the current challenges facing the pub and hospitality sector".
