Psycle no more: celebrity gym blames closure on Crossrail

Celebrity spin studio Psycle has blamed delays to the £17.6 billion Crossrail project for the closure of its gym.

The cult Canary Wharf studio, used by the Beckhams and Millie Mackintosh has told members it is closing on June 20. It is one of four in London.

Psycle said trading at the studio, which is a stone’s throw from the Crossrail station, had been “more difficult than anticipated” as its success “largely depended on the promise of Crossrail”.

The line was due to open in December last year. It is now expected to launch between October 2020 and March 2021.

A spokesman for Crossrail Ltd said they “share the frustration” of businesses and are “fully focused” on completing the project as quickly as possible.
