Psychologist who worked with Kids Company 'took MDMA with charity client in club toilets'

A psychologist has admitted taking MDMA while with "vulnerable" young people she worked with at children's charity the Kids Company.

Dr Helen Winter faces being struck off after admitting she was under its influence when she met two young charity clients at a nightclub in south London in January 2014.

Dr Winter has denied the accusation she took a Class A drug with one of the charity's young clients in a toilet cubicle at the club.

She admitted she was guilty of misconduct and that her fitness to practice is impaired, at a hearing at the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPS) in London.

Dr Winter told the hearing she has used drugs "on several occasions" during her leisure time, testing positive for cocaine. She also admitted to letting clients of the charity stay at her flat.

The Kids Company collapsed in August amid allegations of financial mismanagement and has faced a series of damaging allegations since.

The charity, which is now under the control of administrators, is also being investigated by police from the complex case team of the Met's Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command.
