Psycho Path is back for 2022 bigger and scarier than ever with Fear lurking around every corner

Psycho Path is back and if you’re of a nervous disposition you might want to brace yourself, as it’s bigger, better and scarier than ever.

Halloween just wouldn’t feel like Halloween in the North East now without the massive attraction and the good news for those who aren’t afraid of having their nerves well and truly shot, is that this year Psycho Path’s Fearground is the largest it’s ever been. Lintz Hall in Burnopfield might look like your typical working farm when the sun is in the sky, but when the sun goes down it’s a completely different story and this year, Psycho Path has delivered its most sinister chapter to yet, after promising scares 'fit for a slasher movie.'

Speaking as someone who’s been to every event so far (not entirely sure why as I’m a total whimp!) I can say, without any shadow of a doubt, that this year’s spectacle is the most impressive but also the most terrifying. Well stocked bars throughout the indoor and outdoor site suggest that the Psycho Path team know that plenty of Dutch courage is required to step into the shadows.

It’s often said that there’s nothing scarier then the fear of the unknown and Psycho Path is testament to that. The Cornered maze that made its debut last year even is even more chilling this year as you walk through it barely able to see your hand in front of you, worried that someone’s going to reach out and grab it at any given moment.

Rest assured this is a spoiler free zone, so the far from friendly characters you’ll encounter in the various scares will stay under wraps, suffice to say the shifty ones making their way around the site to unnerve you before you’ve even started are just the tip of a frozen with fear iceberg.

I can’t comment on Isolation as I am far too much of a scaredy cat to go anywhere near it, but I’ve got it in good authority from my friend who dared enter one of the doors that it was “way scarier than last year,” with the ante upped on the original Psycho Path scare, Psycho City. A word of warning; if you go in at a quieter time you’ll probably get more unwanted attention focused on you…speaking from experience on that one!

Cutthroat Island is a new attraction at Psycho Path for 2022 (Newcastle Chronicle)

The queues for 2022 newcomer Cutthroat Island tell you everything you need to know about that one, as it lives up to its billing as one of the scariest attractions on site, while iScream is back to remind you that even if you aren’t petrified of clowns before you go in the maze, you will be after!

Psycho Path, which won a top Scare Award earlier this year, isn’t just a night out, it’s an experience. With live stage performances to fix your eyes on while you’re trying to summon the bravery required to go further or calm your nerves after, as well as a funfair, there is more than ever before going on this year.

Just make sure you’ve got some Disney cartoons cued you on the telly for when you get back home! Trust me, you’ll need them!

*Psycho Path is on at Lintz Hall Farm until October 31, with tickets available HERE. There are also Family Fright Fests throughout October too.
